Finally, a solution to the unfairness of authorship ordering in scientific papers! 😂
"Every Author as First Author"
STM is looking for an editor with experience in cardiovascular/vascular research.
'The American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and Science Translational Medicine are seeking a talented scientist, physician scientist or clinician interested in biomedical/translational research to join the Science Translational Medicine editorial team, preferably in our Washington, DC, USA or Cambridge, UK offices.'

@cyrilpedia @NicoleCRust I totally agree with this as an issue. In general, there is a worrying trend that today's academic grants want to achieve *all* the things: not just cool research projects, but more/better communication &outreach, be translational, pursue open science, achieve gender equality... All of these goals are worthwhile, but expecting every scientist/project to achieve everything at once is misguided. Having targeted programs addressing these could be much more impactful.

FTC guidance on generative AI:
◼ Consumer deception regulation applies to new technologies like AI chatbots
◼ Don't fire your AI ethics or trust and safety teams
◼ Conduct risk assessments, mitigations, and study actual use of tools

Next: "Dr. Hinton said he has quit his job at Google...so he can freely speak out about the risks of A.I."
Pay attention to this.
It seems: The most qualified researchers in the world are not able to say what the future might hold for AI because they are gagged, implicitly/culturally if not directly censored, by short-term profit at the hands of Sundar.
If Google is doing this, it's pretty dismal for humanity. Sundar gets rich now, but everyone else *may* experience serious issues long-term.
People are calling today the 30th birthday of the web; more accurately it’s the 30th birthday of CERN releasing the source code. I vividly remember websites being a curiosity among FTP servers, Usenet newsgroups, and gopher holes.
Here’s to this marvelous technology, Earth’s biggest Choose Your Own Adventure book, one of the most backwardly compatible systems ever built. Modern browsers may be elaborate interpreter-compilers but they still render the first site: http://info.cern.ch/hypertext/WWW/TheProject.html

Something of a pattern emerges. Nature publish a paper with weak statistics. 5 years later a replication fails.
