Britain’s Post-Brexit Trade Agreements with Japan & Australia

Ellie Newis reviews two of the flagship free trade agreements that were supposed to reignite the UK economy – two newly-negotiated deals that should have showed off the possibilities of a post-Brexit world.

However, when the Government’s own data is analysed on the performance of the deals, their failures become patently clear. As the Government’s former Environment Secretary has now admitted, the Australia deal in particular is “not actually very good”.

For some reason I have American Pie running through my head this morning, and most especially the reference to the day the music died. Will Musk make this the day Twitter dies? The idea is so bizarre, and yet so plausible.

The best comment I have seen about Musk and Twitter (and I can’t remember where now, so apologies to whoever first thought this) is that Twitter has the potential to turn Musk into a millionaire. It’s like that other old one. How do you make a small fortune? Start with a big one.
