New ‘s be like: we’re always in the kitchen at parties. With followers back into the single figures, why not just hang out with each other?

Why do I keep an iPhone 6? It’s great for device testing on and is home to my Irish sim. I figure if a web page can display reasonably well on it then I’ve cracked it. And most don’t 🤦🏻‍♂️

Society has moved past the need for news outlets, from now on I want to hear about all current events from a trio of swamp witches who only speak in rhyming couplets

Oop - up… up… how long till the bird is knocked off its perch? 😂🐥

Gaining popularity. First time it’s showed up here…😂

Also liking the way I can run the responsive site on my old iOS 12 iPhone 6 and its just as good as the app.

I've been asked to amplify something that makes this place different from the other place: it's Content Wrappers (or content warnings in old money). Think of it less of a warning and more as a filing system: if people don't want to read endless toots about PMQs they don't have to if you put a Content Wrapper on your PMQ toot. This applies to everything you post here. It's easy to do and allows users to skip the posts they're not interested in and engage with those they are.

Feeling a bit like a rapper halfway through my first week on Mastodon. Always singing about myself where “myself” is what’s happening to Mastodon through the migration of birds...

Twitter Users Have Caused a Mastodon Meltdown | WIRED wired.com/story/twitter-users-

“What’s happening now is causing people to rethink social media,” says Gehl. Mastodon “is kind of designed to adapt, because it’s comprised of all these different servers,” he says. “It just takes a little time to shake out.”

I feel there should be a generational name, like Millenials or Generation Z-ers, to describe the newbies form the bird site who are all making new friends now...

@wilson Thanks for the favourite. You got a follow purely but not solely on your avatar😂 🐦

@barneyharris @bethanyusher @Sky ooh you said a sweary T-word ;) I'm guessing we're not. Pretty much the whole of MSM news should come with a content/trigger warning as far as I can see...

pretty handy, nice UI/UX, like the categorised aside on the right hand side of the viewport...

Java datasets for training... just playing with posting from the desktop qoto server and attaching media...

@barneyharris @bethanyusher this idea has legs for me. It’s not “not” owning up to your responsibilities as a citizen of the world. It’s just taking care of your mental health. I’m sure there will be some longitudinal studies on level of mental health vs. level of awareness of global news (20th century). And the media we experience news in now is highly personal. It doesn’t disseminate and dissolve slowly through the community. It mainlines into the palms of our hands.

Or he be like: oh can you put me up for the night I just moved out of my last hotel. Oh and accommodation will need to be provided for my small skeleton staff of 12.5 million perhaps in an outbuilding? Cheers.
