@freemo I have been here a week and have already seen more positive engagement here than years on Twitter.

I tried to take a photo of a grasshopper on my windshield, but now it looks like it's gigantic and destroying the town.

I remain genuinely and pleasantly shocked that in the course of 10 days or so, we all just went, “no way, eff this, we’re going to @Mastodon”, and now we’re just here and people are so nice and writing alt-text in their images and sharing great stuff and using content warnings and everything. Obviously none of this would have been possible without years of work by #Fediverse / #ActivityHub devs that came before. Even so, this is really something, no? 😃

Hmmm... with sky-high connectivity come sky-high prices... and probably still won't be able to find out where my children go at weekends...😂

@bethanyusher as said before I think this a great idea - maybe tag some mods to boost it (oh heck, speaking Lingua Masto already;)

Just 30 minutes left on my poll about what were called content warnings. But I'm now shifting to more positive language about and calling 'content wraps, or perhaps 'hooks' . I think they should be given a go, as it goes as there are many benefits and I don't see the downside other than it takes. Second longer for thought. New world, new approach.

The content warning debate for news and politics is very interesting and I am enjoying hearing the different perspectives. I was surprised by it and it took some conversations for me to understand how and why it was being used for this. So folks what do we think. #journalism #news #politics #Midterms #pmqs

@freemo Me too. Glad I chose here, albeit still only understood about half of that😎

Those of us migrating from #Twitter (like me) should read this article. I've been here a few days, and have already come to the realization that #Mastodon is an entirely different ecosystem. The worst we can do is treat it as Twitter 2.0.

This is a special community worth preserving. Some of the features that might strike the Twitter user as archaic were designed purposely to protect people over here. Let's try to respect the existing culture, not change it. 👇

@flip Galway is a lot handier for Dublin and, over the years, that's been the one thing we would change about Donegal if we could.

Remember folks, the favourite button has no real clout over here other than expressing your like for the toot, which is great, obviously! But if you *really* like the toot, hit that boost button. It's the best way to get the toot seen out there in the wider fediverse.
If you really like a toot, give it a boost.
BOOST THAT TOOT! :)

@gpowerf @freemo let me know too will ya? As a trainer, 99% fully virtual, icebreakers like standups are very valuable to me otherwise I just talk to the wall all week😂
