Anecdotally, Vancouver drivers are worse at following the rules than Edmonton or Seattle drivers, and Seattle drives have a higher chance of driving unregistered vehicles than the other two.

I wish English had other common words for winter/spring/summer-y periods like we have “autumn” for 🍂 and can thus distinguish it from astronomical fall without having to say extra words.

I thought every job looked cooler if the person had a Peli case but then my kids got their faces painted and the artist’s gear was in one

I'm not a fan of marketing "the community" as a promo of donating to a post-consumption-donation product

After 24 years of being consciously aware of the Olympics and being reasonably indifferent to the concept of the whole (though interested in several parts within) I have developed three opinions that I am recording here to look up in two years.

Any sport that has an extant “best of the world” competition should not be in the Olympics.

The Olympics started as a competition of pure athleticism. Events that require the opinions of judges should not be included.

We shouldn't be talling medals by nations. Nations should participate as the pool from which teams can be made and their local Olympic committees deciding which athletes can partake, but that's it. It shouldn't be a competition between nations.

It would be so hard to be a speaker of second language and then get all your emails caught in spam filters

Being tall is hard and I wouldn’t normally complain but these are dropping down to block the path of even the shortest of adults now.

Surely there can’t be legal repercussions for me doing a little trimming, right?

@sabbatical and I remembered to try it out while looking up a recipe for traditional sangria. 10/10!

While stats on numbers of people joining a religious group are interesting, I would find it more interesting to see stats on the number of people dying while in alignment with their sect

@sabbatical I like how part of the goal of USB C was to make life simpler and here we are… not simpler!
