I have both a chest freezer and an upright one.

In the spirit of “analogue bikes” I think I might start calling them the landscape freezer and portrait freezer

Some valiant internetter compiled all of the Calvin and Hobbes strips about polling imgur.com/a/poll-results-calvi

One of my biggest fears is not showing the right amount remorse when I was wrong and getting a harsher punishment because of it

I like the idea that coffee tastes like music sounds, but I posit this: music sounds like coffee tastes youtube.com/watch?v=IkssYHTSpH

I count 17 individual things. (counting patent medicines and soothing syrups, tobacco and cigarettes, liquor and strong drink, and the pop line as one-item combo words)

Just like how the 2nd Amendment isn't "you can have guns" but rather "we can't make you stop being allowed to have guns," right to repair shouldn't be "we should have the right to repair" but rather "you shouldn't be allowed to stop me from repairing"

@progo I'm told that it's a scenario where Person 1 sends a message on a platform that does read receipts, and then Person 2 opens the message but doesn't reply.

Person 1 knows that Person 2 has seen the message but since they haven't received a reply, they've been "left on 'read'".

Very similar to having a message "left unread" (which the kids *don't* say, I'm told) but the key difference being that the sender knows the recipient *has* seen the message.

I feel like if I went to a "silent disco" I would feel more compelled to just sit and listen than I would when listening to music not on headphones

Tipping was cooler when we weren't asked to do it.

If it wasn't for the seasons, would society care about the solar year?
