I will not be forced at gunpoint to take a vaccination or to undergo ANY medical procedure. I will make my own informed decisions on these matters. PERIOD.

Give me Liberty, or give me Death.

@lordalveric Then you picked the wrong country. Germany already has mandatory vaccine programs.

While I do agree with your right to choose you'd still be a fool to not get vaccinated in most cases.

Follow

@freemo I would probably choose to do so -- but only after I've done some research on how the vaccination works. It's all about informed consent.

I know Germany has some mandatory vaccination laws on the books for children. But then, so does the US.

Yes, I have been wondering that lately. Berlin has a draconian law in effect now that if 50 or more are gathered somewhere, that's up to 5 years in prison or €25,000 fine.

It's scary. Imagine you are walking somewhere, turn a corner, and by accident bump into a crowd just as the Polizei swarm in.

Something similar used to happen in our beloved city of Philly in drug raids... not to mention the planting of evidence... oh man.

Mark me as paranoid, but I always try to think of all the ways a law can be misapplied to crush the innocent.

@lordalveric No the US does **not** have any mandatory vaccination laws for children. Parents have every right to not vaccinate their children at all, German parents do not have that right.

I think you have every right to be worried about laws like that. Sadly much of europe is kinda weak on personal freedoms. We dont even have freedom of speech over here.

@freemo This is true. I can live with not being able to do Nazi Salutes in public... but there are other prohibitions... which is precisely why I shut down my FB account.

The Common Cold and the Corona virus are the same thing. In fact, the common code is referred to as a Coronavirus. Yes, I did my homework. So I and many others refer to it as CoVID-19, to distinguish it from the more common form of the Coronavirus.

Will they find a vaccine for CoVID-19? Will they find a vaccine for the common cold? And if such a vaccine is possible, why has it not been done already? Just think of the billions of billions sitting on the table to be made from such a thing!!!

So with all of the fascist squawkings of Denmark, Germany, Spain... may be all moot.

And yes, since the CoVID-19 and the common code are essentially the same virus, no surprise that one may get mistaken for the other.

@lordalveric lololol No you didnt, no they are not the same. 80% of common colds are caused bt rhinovirus 15% or so by coronavirus.

You such at doing research I guess.

@lordalveric Straight from wikipedia (matching exactly what I said):

"Well over 200 virus strains are implicated in causing the common cold, with rhinoviruses being the most common."

"Other commonly implicated viruses include human coronavirus (≈ 15%),[31][32] influenza viruses (10–15%),[33] adenoviruses (5%),[33] human respiratory syncytial virus (orthopneumovirus), enteroviruses other than rhinoviruses, human parainfluenza viruses, and human metapneumovirus.[34] Frequently more than one virus is present.[35] In total over 200 viral types are associated with colds.[3]"

@freemo What... I saw it upload.. let me try again...I saw the upload bar go, but it looks like the server dropped it.

@lordalveric probably not a supported format. Regardless your going to have a pretty hard time arguing such an obviously and easily discredited assertion.

@freemo Not to say that conronaviruses are the only ones to cause colds, but CoVID-19 and SARS and some of the viruses that causes the common sniffles are in the same family.

@lordalveric So your basically saying you agree with what i just said, that 10%-20% of common colds cases are caused by coronavirus but the vast majority by rhinovirus. Ok the glad we agree.

@freemo I never said I disagree. I do assert that the Conorona virus is responsible for the common code in some cases, and also SARS and COVID-19.

I have long since known about the Rhino virus and its relation to the common cold -- for like decades.

@lordalveric Wait, did you just say COVID-19 and SARS are responsible for the common cold?

While its correct to say in a minority of cases coronaviruses do cause the common cold, it is not true to say COVID-19 or SARS causes the common cold..

Also COVID-19 is not the name of a virus by the way, you used it wrong in your wording.

@freemo I did not say that. They are in the same family... does not mean that SARS causes the common cold!!!!

Stop spewing forth nonsense like a leftist! :p

@lordalveric You literally just said "I do assert that the Conorona virus is responsible for the common code in some cases, and also SARS and COVID-19."

It sounded like you were saying SARS and COVID-19 also caused the common cold.

Dont blame me if you say things you dont mean to say. Thats why I asked for clarification. The way you worded it was confusing. You are talking about corona virus like it refers to a single type of virus so it was unclear. But I see what you mean now.

@freemo I have not had my coffee yet, so excuse me if my "wording" is not spot-on! :p

@lordalveric It happens.

Just so we are clear, Coronavirus is a family of viruses.. SARS-COV-2 is the specific strain we are currently wrestling with, and COVID-19 is the disease the viruses causes.

@freemo Then we are -- finally -- in agreement, then!!!! Phew!

@freemo The common cold is caused, in some cases, by the Coronavirus, but NOT CoVID-19.

The confusion, of course, is the media's fault. The same media that trashed the meaning of "Hacker" decades ago. Before the media got its paw prints on that word, "Hacker" has a very good connotation.

Then, it turned it into a prerogative, instead of using the more appropriate term, "cracker".

Same old story.

@freemo Human rhinovirus is also on that table I sent you. It's all there.

@freemo I don't know if I trust Wikipedia anymore. It has incorrent information on a number of topics and people that are politically charged. The entry it has on Stefan Monenyux, for example, is way off base. I have watched him for many many years.

For the longest time, I had assumed that anything science or math-related was still trustworthy. But the jury is still out.
