@lordalveric Elaborate. I don't trust Trump's mouth, but I'm sure yours can give a better case.

@mathlover With some of the crazy things I have already heard Biden say, like "If you don't vote for me, you're not Black!!!", Trump would not have to make this shit up.

Biden needs to be sent out to pasture. I cannot understand why the Democrats can't pick a *sane* candidate... oh, probably because they have all gone insane. Mad as a hatter.

@lordalveric Biden apologized for that stupid remark, but true.

Biden has gaffes and several policy positions I strongly dislike (opposition to Section 230 and support for assault weapon bans among them); Trump has even more gaffes, has even more policy positions I despise, has an actual policy and enforcement record I despise, and is currently causing the country to go down the tubes as-is. Biden is also more likely to fill positions with competent people (which is arguably the single most important part of a presidency) while Trump has been quite content leaving positions empty and having people fill them in an acting capacity, or even having cronies or family *unofficially* fill them.

To be honest a lot depends on who Biden's VP pick is as well, as whoever she is, she will probably play a significant role in Biden's administration.

@mathlover Trump is a clown in public. No disagreement there. But Biden? I think he is suffering from dementia. He sniffs the hair of young ladies, he says things like "Hello there, green lady" to Hillary on a live broadcast (and all copies of that mysteriously disappeared off of YT!!!), and even falls asleep during live shows...!!!

For sure the Democrats can find a more competent and sound candidate to run up against Trump, because if you think Trump moped the floor with Hillary, what the hell will he do with Biden????

This is all moot to me, as I left the US 6 years ago, never to return. I care about the country, but feel that it is beyond repair and will go down in flames. I felt that way 6 years ago, and what the hell?????

I really hate being right about these things. Really.

@lordalveric You certainly aren't the only person I know of who left for those reasons, and I'd be lying if I said that I haven't been slightly tempted to come to the same conclusion a few times every year since 2016.

@lordalveric If it weren't for the fact that my part of the US is generally sane and I have a loving supportive family I would not want to leave behind, I'd probably be halfway to two-thirds convinced to leave by this point.

@lordalveric My mother (a medical doctor who majored in psychology in college) has suggested Biden's issues may be neurological sequelae from a head injury, which while observable, could easily be minor overall and not at all indicative of dementia. From what she has seen of Biden, she judges that he speaks on a vastly better level than Trump.

@mathlover Well, I would have to differ on his current speaking ability. I've watched one of his rallies, one that took place in a school gymnasium! The bleachers remained retracted and the crowd were left standing to give the impressions that there were more people than actually were there.

And Biden had nothing substantive to say. All he kept mouthing before I got too bored to watch any more is simple talk about defeating Trump. The entire time.

Whatever his medical problem, is he really the man you want running the country, walking around with that nuclear "football" and all?

Or do you want to risk having a "Dr Strangelove" incident?

Trump rallies, on the other hand, fills entire stadiums, with people standing around outside! Surely if Biden were a better speaker than Trump, he should be able to have a similar draw.

Well, at this point, I wouldn't care too much, except the decisions of an incompetent Biden will affect Europe as well.

In my living history, I have NEVER seen the Democrats this crazy before. Even if you don't like Trump, even if you don't like the Republicans, you should vote them all in this time around if you care for the future of your country. Defunding the police??? Seriously??? Just the tip of the iceberg of all the destructive changes they want to make.

On the family front, all of my family ties are gone. Kids have grown up, my brother, father, and mother are gone, and I have lost contact with other family members. So no ties for me aside for my current wife and 2 cats!

@lordalveric Biden has stated he is against defunding police. He also isn't on board with the far left on identity politics, and at the federal level I don't see the far-left getting drastic changes past more moderate members. Additionally, Democrats might still be held in check by a GOP-led senate, and if they are not, the Supreme Court will remain conservative and able to strike down anything truly egregious.

More urgent than Democratic legislative control is Biden's ability to reverse Trump's executive policy (which have been disastrous for the nation as a whole and would be even worse for the nation if Trump remained in office.)

Follow

@mathlover I think the Democrat mayors and governors who refuse to end the violence that are killing so many is the actual disaster to the country. I have seen nothing that Trump has done that comes anywhere near. PEOPLE ARE DYING.

And Biden has a very chequered past. During the civil rights era, he was fighting against school integration, etc., and was hanging out with a former KKK member.

No wonder he says idiotic things like "If you don't vote for me, you're not black". Yeah, right. Biden can go to hell.

Trump 2020 -- because the Democrats want to burn it all down.
