I am still in the middle of watching this, so I don't know if I should give it my "Massively Cool" rating yet. But it looks promising. What you get when you grab people from Star Trek, Babylon 5, etc. and stick them all together. :)

Black hole discovered a mere 1000 light-years near us.

Just a walk in the park!

The Democrats picked a whopper this time. You know, when Trump pretends to be a bit "crazy", he is merely staging an act.

So when Biden does it...? I don't think he's pretending at all.

Just when I thought I couldn't be surprised anymore by the Demonrats in the US, they do me one better.

The next election will be such a popcorn moment that I think I will make an exception and actually eat popcorn. I've cut that and all carbohydrates out of my diet for health reasons...but I think it will be worth it to chow down this once.

But, um, perhaps, just in case, we should "nuke" the Democrats from orbit. It's the only way to be sure...!

Somehow, I don't think Poland will open its borders on the third like they promised earlier.

Upgraded to Kubuntu 20.04 (from 19.10). I have to say that this is the smoothest upgrade so far. A few glitches, but not what I normally have to contend with.

And more importantly, Steam Play works even better!

Just learned about Steam Play. Now, the vast majority of Windows games on Steam now work on Linux. Equal or better performance. Including Doom Eternal. May requires some tweaking, but once working, it rocks!

Goodbye Windows.

@aluaces CMake is not yet ready to deal with modules, but the code that does it for Fortran should work with some minor changes, from what I am told.

I've not used meson... I should take a look at that. In the meantime, I'll see if I can come up with a workaround. That'll be part of the challenge. :)

And this is a "real man's" code challenge. Not that bullshit they give you on interviews!!! :D :D :D

@aluaces Modules and concepts. Clang 9 supports modules, though I will probably download, compile, and install the latest Clang.

Concepts are better supported, I think, in gcc, but no support for modules there yet, so for now I'll go with clang.

There are many other new features I want to play with as well, too many to mention.

Should be fun.

Concepts are another thing, but

This is NOT the Paris I recall from 20 years ago. What the hell is going on????

C++20. The power. A couple of projects I had planned to do in Rust, I have now switched again and will do it in C++20 instead.

Even if you know each other? Even if you are family? If they try to fine me for taking a walk with my own wife, I'll tell them where they can shove it!!!

Today's silly coding challenges in interviews are not unlike the experiences felt by one in The Pit and the Pendulum.

@freemo but maybe I'll scavenge the old broken laptop for its parts... I watched a YT video on that too!!! The display screen, for example, could be hooked up to one of my RPis.
