After another month of work, @zemarmot merged the GAction/GMenu branch to our main development branch.
β‡’ The #GTK+3 port of #GIMP is officially finished (apart from minor deprecated API here and there, but no huge tasks anymore)!!! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰πŸ₯‚

We even already updated the roadmap which now says "Port to GTK3": done.

So the multiplayer/matchmaking for Halo Master Chief Collection now works on Steam Deck. There's some good info here in case you run into issues, but I've been playing it for a bit now and it's working great, :-)

New weekly recap is out. Highlights: new features in @GIMP and HDRview (by @wkjarosz), new releases of Armory 3D, VCV Rack, and plugdata

@schumaml suggested adding the ability to hide the on-canvas text editor in a discussion thread. It turned out to be very simple to implement (referencing the existing "Use editor window" toggle), so I put it together and submitted it for review. Hopefully it will be helpful if added to #GIMP!

New feature coming to
@GIMP v2.99: snapping to layer boundaries and on-canvas equal distribution of objects (just like in @inkscape 1.2!). Warning: this is early preview, more work to be done. Available in a merge request, patch by mr.fanstastic

Thunderbird 115 "Supernova" will be intuitive and welcoming to new users, while remaining familiar and comfortable for our veteran users.

See how we're accomplishing that balance with this preview of the new Folder Pane: blog.thunderbird.net/2023/02/t

Once again, a big ➑️" Thank you! 😍 "⬅️ to all G'MIC users who donated to support our project, in 2022.
We will continue our efforts in 2023!

Developer on fire! πŸ”₯πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» I'm adding/improving commands to better convert/visualize images of 3D voxels in G'MIC. Here is a video of Voxelized Mario, done with these new tools.

New G'MIC command 'curve3d' allows to generate a parameterized 3D curve (x(t),y(t),z(t)) with a possibly varying radius 'r(t)'.
More and more possibilities to generate 3D meshes in a procedural way!

Funny One-Liner of the Day: ▢️3D Menger Sponge

Code:
3,3,3,1,"norm([x,y,z]-1)>1" (200) repeat 4 { r. {3*[w,h,d]},1,0,2 +ri[0] . *[-2,-1] } to_rgb. dv3d.

Everything happening right now with Twitter will happen with GitHub.

Some thoughts about G'MIC and the so-called "AI"-based algorithms.
