I’ve been struggling with a technical problem at work. Really struggling, and sitting in front of the computer doesn’t help. Plenty of lessons but the main ones are:

1. Take more breaks
2. Visualize before you build
3. Get off the freaking computer and go for a walk

whenever a community tests ubi or free housing for the homeless the result is always "holy fuck this works incredibly well and costs less than existing solutions!" and then all the politicians do this

Because unlike wanting to be a dinosaur, there's decades of science showing kids with persistent gender dysphoria:
1. Rarely grow out of it
2. Continue to suffer if not treated
3. Suffer lifelong pain if they go through the wrong puberty
4. Are at significant risk of suicide/self-harm if untreated
5. Thrive as well as cis kids if they are supported by family/friends and given gender-affirming care

A single man, William T. Howell, wrote the 1864 law that the AZ Supreme Court has revived to ban nearly all abortions in the state.

Women didn’t have the right to vote back then, and none had any say in the territory’s laws. But they can vote now. And they will have a big say.

Funny how wealthy Americans will readily accuse Biden of “buying votes” with student debt forgiveness but had no issue with Trump signing massive tax cuts for themselves. Hello?

Do you want to see what voting would look like if white people set it up for just white people? Well, we don't have to wonder. There's an actual real world example that we can look at right now. Let's look at Utah.

Utah is 87% Caucasian and only 1% black by population. In Utah:

➡️ EARLY VOTING exists.
➡️ MAIL IN VOTING exists.
➡️ ONLINE REGISTRATION exists.
➡️ SAME DAY registration exists.
➡️ ALL REGISTERED VOTERS are automatically sent ballots.
➡️ Not ballot applications. ACTUAL BALLOTS.
➡️ You get an AUTOMATIC NOTIFICATION if there's any problem with your signature so you can correct it in time for your vote to be counted.
➡️ You DO NOT NEED proof of citizenship to register to vote or to cast your vote. They just trust you.
➡️ If you are a CONVICTED FELON, you regain your right to vote once you serve your sentence.
➡️ Or even if you are merely granted PAROLE OR PROBATION.

Yet, despite all this, for some reason, Republicans never seem to mention potential voter fraud in Utah.

Gee, I wonder what the difference is.

Modern fascists always attack women, immigrants, & LGBTQ+ people first. They long for a white-led, patriarchal, theocratic society.

Remember that when you see reproductive rights, gay rights, and migrant rights stripped away.

The state of abortion rights in the U.S. unequivocally demonstrates that women are second class citizens. All the orange and tan states deny women autonomy over their own bodies, the most basic element of liberty. The federal government permits this. If I see someone online admitting they were wrong when presented with a good counterargument, my trust and affection for that person go up like 1000x. I don’t need someone to already know everything, I need them to care about getting it right more than their ego.
