The algorithm made me discover someone pretty interesting

Destiny GG . He debates people online and he seems pretty based. He doesn’t have a lot of followers though

This article (noemamag.com/mastodon-isnt-jus) about "becoming engaged democratic citizens in the life of your networks" led me to the patron of indieweb.social (patreon.com/indiewebsocial).

@tchambers how are you doing with the insane blowup of indieweb.social? What do you need?

Sherlock Holmes and Pooh Bear both enter public domain next week. There's a crossover that's been waiting a long time.

Shame on Doug Ford and his team for taking nurses and other public-sector workers to court just to waste taxpayers' money to fight the unconstitutional Bill 124. What a Premier!

@amaditalks ok but why not both though. The vast majority of blind people cannot drive and so they would benefit from not having a car centric city.

Walkability in general include wheelchairs and motorized devices.

There is already adapted transport for disabled people available in many places

Useful term I discovered this week: “toxic mimicry”. It’s the pattern of substituting systems/organisations/services that look superficially like they fill a core societal need but in fact act to take up the space that a genuine system would fill, and only provide virtual nutrition.

Examples:
- 6pm TV news mimics public discourse
- Malls mimic public spaces
- Daycare mimics collective child rearing

I like the term as it suggests something predatory and insidious.

Did some botanical painting after a day mostly spent studying for a security cert. This one is from Nikki Strange’s Watercolor Botanicals book. #watercolor #MastoArt #JoinIn

Keeping my tradition of painting octopuses on the bottoms of tables in hotel rooms alive 😀

@atomicpoet People in Cuba do that as well because of lack of access to wifi and to circumvent censorship
