The reason I crosspost from the evil bird is that news sites and alert apps don't link to Mastodon yet. So, clicking on the tweet option sends it here too.

Saves me from copying/pasting every single alert, which is how I end up making errors.

Once news outlet catch up, I can stop crossposting.

I don't get why people are scaring people away from mastodon because "admins can read DMs" - and? That's true of 99% of services on the internet.
