Last night I flashed on my . "Sudo dd if=/some/path/mobian-pinephone-20201215.img of=/dev/sdg status=progress"

So far no qualms or problems to note! Not even getting locked out...(I shouldn't have to say that last part).

@lucifargundam Use apk search from the terminal. If you want more applications install guix, most of the missing stuff is in there and I think it brings its own libc for you.

@swiley @lucifargundam there is a mastodon client but it does not work as a phone :blobcatlul:

@icedquinn @lucifargundam Mine works as a phone I just have to reboot if I want to make a phone call and have locked it since the last time I rebooted. This is supposedly fixed in mobian with the eg.25 firmware update

@swiley
I tried installing guix on my didn't know if it'd show up in software or if I had to do so via terminal. The latter was the correct option. Though ideally software should connect as well. As for the software that's already there- seems I can't install any updates- not even system updates! What's this ?

@lucifargundam Yeah stuff installed with guix probably won't show up in any GUI stuff unless maybe you symlink the applications directory from your guix profile into a directory the GUI searches (not a good idea.)

I don't use mobian but there probably aren't updates available? I wouldn't use the GUI tool for installing them though.

@swiley
I have no idea about 's interface, controls, etc- which is good because I'm trying to provide constructive feedback as a new user trying what is hoped to be a welcoming, user-friendly mobile os.
