Not sure what gives - I've worked many parts of IT (including tech support) for many years and everyone has heard of my current employer whom I've worked with for a handful of years.
The main complaint I've gotten from companies is that I don't have my B.S. in computer science. I have the exp for the most part and have passed what coding interviews I've taken in the past.
Something's gotta give at some point. It usually takes me 1-2 years of active searching to land a new job.

I've never experienced the kind of favorable market as other people have depicted in social media and public circles and news
life has always been rough for me
@lucifargundam I'm self-taught as well. I'm not in the job market at the moment but I'm wondering if market conditions are causing hiring departments to become what they think is "more picky"?
