They're unoriginal and saturate the market with competition until nothing meaningful to civilization succeeds.
Going against the trends makes you am outcast, Morty- but you can use that to your advantage... 
See, while everyone else is having a bloodfeud trying to one-up each other on who's imaginary 
is bigger, you'll be on top doing your own original idea and monopolizing the market!
