TFW you're watching pandemic generation kids get more excited over Gauntlet for PS2 than Kirby for Nintendo Switch.

"It is for ourselves that we forge a personal philosophy of life. It is within that we come to see, little by little, what must be changed within our own being. We must be aware of what is possible and what is not. We cannot change anyone else's character, nor should we try to do so. Each person changes when a need for change is apparent to our own mind. When old ways don't work anymore, something different must be tried, however reluctantly. A person begins to think more autonomously when the whims of society no longer bring pleasure. Everyone will reach this point at some time - in some incarnation." Rosicrucian Manuscript

The Computer Science department at Louisiana State University (LSU) is currently hiring for many faculty positions related to applied cyber security. Courses taught inside this department include reverse engineering, malware analysis, binary exploitation, memory forensics and other intensive courses related to incident response and offensive security.

Ideal candidates will have significant experience with deeply

technical areas of cybersecurity. LSU was recently granted the CAE-CO designation and is one of only 21 schools nation-wide to hold it as it is the most technical designation granted by NSA and DHS. The department also runs a large SFS program for cyber security students.

If you are interested in one of these positions, then please see the

following link. I also ask my industry contacts to please spread the

word within academic communities that you have access to:

lsu.wd1.myworkdayjobs.com/en-U

The cybersecurity effort at LSU has strong support from the highest levels of the school and is rapidly expanding – so now is the perfect time to join.

PS: I am not employed by LSU, but do work very closely with the CS department to ensure the courses are relevant to industry and rigorous enough for students to leave with real-world, hands-on experience. If you have questions related to the position, then please direct them to Dr. Golden Richard at LSU: cct.lsu.edu/~golden/

I love how Barnes & Noble specifically promoted some of these "banned" books. Every library and bookstore should do this.

Love backdoors like Dual_EC_DRBG? Hannah David, Matthew Green, Nadia Heninger, Keegan Ryan and Adam Suhl tried to dissect if the related MS_DRBG standardized along Dual_EC_DRBG in ISO/IEC 18031 had a backdoor. Results: inconclusive.

Are you around LA and need something fun to do next Saturday? LA Maker Faire is 9-5 Apr 1 at the LA Historic park and we’ll have a booth there! There are over 200 booths, Bill Nye is speaking, it’s FREE, and close to the Chinatown Metrolink stop. It’s a no-selling event, so we’ll have a bunch of kits on display and would love to chat with makerspaces & organizations that want to teach soldering!

What better to do on a Thursday night than do an oil change?
