> “Fuzzy theory is wrong, wrong, and pernicious,” said William Kahan, a highly regarded professor of computer sciences and mathematics at the University of California at Berkeley in 1975. “The danger of fuzzy theory is that it will encourage the sort of imprecise thinking that has brought us so much trouble.”
and here we are, in a world where AI models nobody can comprehend are the rule. used to decide upon important things everywhere - for better or worse.
@lupyuen I haven't heard much of Fuzzy Logic besides from commercials and dubious science journalism, so I assumed it was just marketing. I'm still skeptical about its application in Japanese electronics. To me, few appliances do anything more than reading sensor values and make adjustments using fixed thresholds or linear parameters

@lupyuen Well, the title is a bit clickbaity since it really applies to all social media. I think we're conscious beings and should be able to control our own experience. See also https://ieji.de/@austin/108600311859836974

@gemlog @cstanhope @lupyuen That blog post probably says more about its author than the fediverse in general. The description of fights sounds just like when I was on Twitter, but gladiatorial behavior is rare here.
The fediverse is now so big that it's hard to make generalizations. There probably are corners of the chud-o-verse where it's a continuous Twitter-style scrap. But nearly all of what I see os lowkey.
I may have a better experience of the fediverse simply because there are numerous mitigations built into Epicyon. Long threads and dogpiles can't really happen on this timeline because they would be screened out automatically. And there are no local or federated timelines, so I'm only seeing what I signed up to read, plus any associated boosts.
#LVGL is Object-Oriented ... Designing an LVGL Wrapper in #ZigLang might be challenging 🤔

Shigematsu makes some of my favorite elastomeric masks- super lightweight and comfortable. Unfortunately, they are one of these century-old Japanese companies that's impossible to contact and has little interest in the overseas market so they are hard to source in the US.
