All the major news networks used to keep obit tapes ready to roll for notable celebrities and politicians. They’d be complete, edited video obituaries about the person’s life, and they’d update them periodically. Then if someone died, they could just pull the tape and go to air immediately with the story without having to gather stuff together and edit it.
I don’t know if they still do that now because the tools available today allow them to get something to air quickly just from their generic video libraries.
