Basic rules, people being expected to be decent and behave. Light moderation if needed.
@design_RG I guess I can survive those rules. So far mastadon seems great!
@maison_faim It is a nice place. Our system admin is @freemo , who is a Doctor in Science and operates his own business.
The instance benefits from professional hosting and daily backups, so it's a stable place to build a profile.
There is a theme, but light chat is not discouraged. And a variety of users with many interests.
I have only been here for a month, and love the experience.
@design_RG That's good to know. I am not sure if my posts follow any general theme. Where can I read about the theme?
@maison_faim in the About this instance page. Basic theme here is STEM, Science, Tech, Engineering and Math.
But no one is being told to shut up for general posting, so... No worries.
We had a discussion going about the many incoming new users, the instance has grown about 1,000 accounts in a month or so. But there were no conclusions or a policy developed yet, so it's status quo for now.
Dr Freeman is quite a nice fellow, he should be around soon and probably will say hello.
