Starlink's share of failed satellites (space debris without counting lingering rocket pieces) now amounts to ~7% of all functioning satellites around Earth. To me this looks like a scary rate of failure.

@derekmorr @axios he's registered the company on the Virgin Islands. Call this misguided

@mike @Transportist I'm using different accounts for different languages. Some people would use different accounts for different topics. The real challenge is being transparent to a potential follower, so they could choose which one they want to follow.

@vics a small development team manages to keep their visions aligned much better. With increase of complexity and with passage of time, inevitably also the bloat grows.

The magic in Linux is not its simplicity, but the fact it improves usability over time.

@kolya motors for the wipes?... my ignorant guess

PS: randomly came across a couple of your posts and really enjoyed them

Ok, it's official now: I'm going to give a talk about satellite pollution at a UN (!!) workshop.

I have very mixed feelings about this! It's 100% in person, which is SO much stupid travel pollution (in order to try to stop so much stupid satellite pollution, ugh). But it's in Milan!! I've never even thought about going to Milan, it's just so fancy and out of reach. So... wow.

@mapto@masto.bg @sundogplanets as for seeing, I'd suggest you don't miss the chance to extend your visit. Of course one option, that I consider overly ambitious, is trying to visit all the touristy places in Italy like Florence and Venice. You can get to these and even to Rome by high speed train, but would need to stay for at least one night to get a feeling.

In a long weekend around Milan you could get to enjoy the Alps (lake Como) and maybe the Mediterranean (Genova), dedicating one very intensive day to each of these.

If you choose to focus on the city, very attractive zones are Navigli (nice channels), Brera (boutiques), Isola (more hipster), not to mention Duomo (the cathedral) and Castello. A few museums and galleries are also worthwhile, but it depends what you're keen on. Suggesting to you the Leonardo Museum of Science would be too much of a cliche. :)

@euronews the headline of this article might as well be full hybrid car sales taking over the EU market. Between people's desire to move away from fossils and the disappointing electric vehicle promise, the Toyota-led middle way is showing to be the most realistic. It is by far not enough, but at least it is making headway towards finding an alternative.

@andresmh @evan I disabled this on my mail server. It is a spam magnet.

Wow, congrats! I wasn't aware of the news. Is this for QOTO only or for your wider projects?
