Its taken me a few days to really come to grips with the fact that America now has its first segregationist as president in living history.

What a dark and shameful day for America. I truly am ashamed to call myself a US citizen :(

I had so much hope back in 2008 when I voted for Obama and still believe in the Democratic party. But Obama was a disgrace and I regretted that decision ever since. It has been nothing but downhill since then, each time getting worse.. .First Bush with the Patriot act, Then Obama & Biden murdering US citizens and extending the Patriot Act, Then Trump generally being an idiot, and Now Biden a segregationist as president.. Can we sink any lower?

@freemo To be fair Biden is probably not going to do anything remotely segregationist at this point, and I strongly suspect he has moved beyond that politically if not morally, given the vast timespan between him then and him now and the changes in the Democratic party. Still aggravating that we now have yet another old white Christian man due to be in office.

@mathlover Biden will do whatever is in his best interests, no matter how evil that may be. The moment it worked against him to propose segregationist policies he stopped proposing them.

The concern is not that he will actually enact segregationist policies. The concern is that he has demonstrated he is so exceptionally evil that his ability to make morally conscious choices is completely lacking.

Last time he held any sort of power was as a vice president. He and Obama felt it was ok to murder a 16 year old citizen with no trial at the time. So clearly he has gotten worse from a moral perspective since his segregation days, not better.

@freemo I have not heard the story about the 16 year old. Mind sharing a link?
