@metapsyche For me to form an opinion on this I'd have to say it depends when it was put up.. if it is put up in our lifetimes, then by all mean take it down. But if it was put up before any of us were born, then I'd say keep it but extend it to explain the slave aspects of the person with additional text of monument.
