Wait, what? (screenshot #1)

Do I read this correctly: Artists submit their work for an auction, and if they're selected and the painting sells, they get between 0% and 15% of the selling price.

Oh, they list "benefits" (screenshot #2). Let's see.

> All selected artists will be included in our robust promotional campaigns.

Oh, you'll use my art in an ad campaign for free. Awesome. I'm gonna be famous.

> Artists will receive bidder information from their sold artwork after the Auction.

Do we get their cell number and the name of the school attended by their children? I can't wait to stalk them.

> All artist applicants will have their work seen by local art-world luminaries who jury the work for inclusion consideration.

Sweet, a jury of local randos will get to see my painting.

> Your contribution as an Auction Artist directly supports ArtSpan’s programs, and has a positive impact on our local art community.

Sounds like an ineffective way for artists to give their money to other artists.

You know what, I'll skip this and focus on making art.

Believe it or not... *THIS* exploitation is more of what we need more of... in our own ballpark(s) to celebrate ourselves since they won't even pay for it much anyway...

@mjambon OK- Believe it or not *THIS* is exactly what we need more of...in our own ballpark(s)...
...the Fediverse..
...the areas of people in unpaid sector(s), the justice people etc... we need to do get it together a lot more...

More of something *ourselves* however we can and have access to... share and enable each other where alone we have near nothing... more within our -like-minded- selves...
in the similar-but-less-exploitative / much-more-mutual-friendly-exploitative ways to get money from the richer of us - because anyway there is no money anywhere else (or bad exchange and only bad circular economy) and we are all now political exiles (de-facto their politics pretty much them wanting alienate everyone or follow them).

Now your post might be a small representation of that but:
We are anyway facing starvation

When those outside care less for us and our arts AND politics that al comes with it and the see it... (especially for art I feel it's always been like that and 'too many artist and 'political people' starving right).
Tech is well abused so it's ok pay for that... for now... AI will replace them and leave fewer need like almost all machines have done or killed the human / art of doing... leaving it empty.

So we have not much choice and anyway should work from ourself ( style each other) else face worse positions...

Are you with me on that?

Technically / Financially there isn't much money given from banks down to the likes of well, the many peasants ... the banks choose the waterfalls as the main pipes and where it goes and what people and companies get green light. Anything good we do is neutral at best or mostly against them and they know it.

Anyway I hope you agree and I've been trying to 'promote' people more and more via podcast pumping up others I/ we like to highlight them for 1min (literally 2mins in total)...

Those who maybe rely on job or commercial stuff too much probably should make a start with us / anyone here... as plug can be pulled literally anytime so better start now to be more together if you believe it...
