Okay, this click, click, copy, switch-tabs, click, paste, enter, then-click is getting a little tedious.

I could _really_ use a one-click button or action called Follow This Mastodon Account Which Is On A Different Server Than Yours. Anyone got tips?

@GeePawHill From what I gather, fediverse etiquette says not to do auto-cross posting. This also makes sense to me.

@testobsessed Big move indeed. I joined twitter just a few months after you. Have not yet made any moves to remove my presence there. Will see. Fediverse certainly has a lot of the fun, early feel like early twitter.

Update: Ron just told me (via twitter lol) that he did see my @ toots. So maybe it’s only the following that’s borked.

@freemo Do you know of any federation issues between qoto.org and mastodon.social?

I’m trying to follow a couple of my folks who are on that server. They don’t see my follow coming, nor even a follow request.

From my side, it shows that my follow request is Pending.

They also don’t see it when I @ mention them (@RonJeffries and @GeePawHill)

Do these issues sound familiar to you?

I’m sure there’s documentation of all this, and it quite amuses me how much I am NOT feeling an urge to find or read it.

So, I enabled the “advanced web interface” option. I see more stuff at once.

But now I can’t find my list of Follows and Followers.

Feels a bit like my parents looked, while trying to figure out the VCR controls.

Or, maybe? Now it says that I’m following you. But then it said that before. And then it said my follow was Pending.

@RonJeffries I did not have a profile photo when I first tried to follow you.

Now I have one. I’ll cancel my follow request and try again.

I have not written a self-bio in a while. Defs influenced by my daughter’s vocabularic style.

Dang it—already made my first annoying typo in a toot. The prior should be “I remember WHEN twitter.com…”

@cshardie@mstdn.social Hmm. Home feed only seems to show my own toots. Maybe there’s a filter option with a bad default? Will require some troubleshooting, I guess.
