How to handle #African rock python with a bloom instead of killing, if you find it in your homestead.
@JonathanMBR
Catching pythons is much easier compared to venomous snakes. Even if they bite, it is just a little blood lost.
@mur2501 I was wondering about that. In my eyes it looked like the python wanted to bite as if it was a venomous snake. I was a bit confused by that, I'd have expected it to have a different attack method.
@trinsec
Their teeths have a very good grip if they bite. Their method is first bite and take hold of the prey then coil around it to suffocate it to death.

@trinsec
yeah the bite is very painful and opening it's mouth once it has took it's hold is a task that requires a couple of people. Anyway atleast you not gonna die of any venom or something.

Apart from Anaconda and Reticulated Python other species don't really see humans(adult) as food so just letting them go away by themselves will be good.
also you wouldn't be having much of a chance to cut a big python with a pocket knife while it is coiling you.
Best strategy is to just don't let them coil up on you
@JonathanMBR
@mur2501 Yeah, at least you don't die of venom. You just get crushed very slowly and painfully until your body simply decides to implode.
Would carrying a pocket knife around for defense help? When it starts to coil around you, you just hack away on it? (In case you're alone)
