@mur2501 Neat, at least the public takes the virus seriously with all those chairs placed apart. That's good to see!
But the silly parts of the parade are for me the following:
- Army... showing off your military power. I mean, I don't think we ever had a military parade here in ages? The last one might very well be the Germans who invaded us. :P
- Silly huge arm movements. If those marching soldiers aren't carefull they might just swing their arms off!
- Silly huge leg movements. Same for the legs!

Not that the public takes the virus seriously, it's a big event watched internetionally and it would easily make it in the news if the chairs wouldn't be placed apart. We don't care about the virus, we care about the public image 
When taking revenge on Pakistan and China is one of the few topics politicians here win elections then showing big arm and leg movements with tanks and fighter jets becomes kinda necessary every year 
(Note that unlike many other countries especially in Europe, here the trust in military is very high. Also the armed forces are the prime and only projection of patriotism, nationalism, unity, etc here)

Well yeah you all do trust your military but also it's not entirely a topic there on which elections are fought on. The current ruling right wing party here builds it's victory upon dividing Hindus and Muslims as well using the conflict between India and Pakistan as a very good support for nurturing this divide.

Want to place a sidenote though. We do trust our military. We just don't need them strutting around.
Our patriotism is shown only by waving orange flags during King's Day or during any big international football games. Then we're suddenly the best nation in the world. 😋
