@mur2501 Ah, nice there's a window. Around here, in the apartment blocks where the owners want to keep their kitty indoors, they have a kitty net over their balcony so the kitties can still go 'outside' but not risk jumping off. ;)

Other owners place planks from their balcony to the ground floor. Works best if you're on the 1st etage though, higher is getting a bit problematic with that solution.

I wonder do cats have the heartbeat inside seeing the height or they r just addicted to thrill.

@mur2501 Height = overview. Hunters want to be able to easily spot things. You can spot a lot from great height and the prey is usually unaware.

From this I can conclude that my cat is, thankfully, a shitty hunter.

If he would have been a good one then you would have got a birthday cake of dead mices.

@mur2501 I've had that in the past. Buncha birds, some even still alive, not really fun. Lots of feathery mess to clean up too.

Some mice... including live ones. Sigh. Had to spend a week trying to chase that one out. The other one I found in a shoe which I picked up and brought out into the garden so it could get away on its own.

A few ducklings. One still lived and I brought it back to his momma. The rest were dead.

Sometimes a dead dragonfly or butterfly.

Though all this is getting way less over the years. In fact, I can't remember the last time my cat dragged something home.

My parents had a black cat some 5+ years ago. She was lovely, but she was also a great hunter. I think having black fur probably helped her there. Anyway, she brought back a lot of dead and alive animals home... Joy. To enter the kitchen and seeing half a mouse body with its innards spread around isn't really very appetizing. She was a true hunter 'til the very end.

@mur2501 Black cats are lovely. They're crazy little voids.

Another li'l tale about the black cat my parents had:
When you were eating dinner, you very well better defend your meat. If you're not watching, she's going to snatch the meat right off your plate right there.
I think she managed to do that a few times with my dad. I was wary, though, and didn't let her near me while eating dinner. Man, she was quite inquisitive. No, off the chair while I'm eating! Don't dare to get near my plate!

Afterwards she loved licking the dessert bowl clean. My dad would usually get some sort of strawberry yoghurt after dinner and she absolutely loved that one.
