@thor @icedquinn @mur2501 @shouko 2 thoughts: 1) food often is squishy and/or slimy in ways that are gross if rubbed on your face, but delicious if aimed just right. Also often food odors, such as "stinky cheese" or cumin smell distinctly like unclean human bits, but are also delightful in the right preparation, so maybe the *gross* instinct is just more contextual than it at first appears.

2) It may be well and good to say we like sex despite it being gross because we're 'programmed to', but isn't thinking things are gross to begin with also just a program?
