@freemo thank you, I've known mastodon for awhile but never really used it because I have various interests and never really dig the the federated, topic-based servers.
But I'm giving it a try now.

@napsy While we are federated most servers are not topic based, some are.
QOTO (this server) is a bit in the middle, wwe are not topic based in the sense that you can post on any topic you wish. We only require our users to be STEM professionals, students, or enthusiasts. So while our posts do lean towards a STEM nature we actuall discuss anything and everything.
