@lorenschmidt I thinka dimension is likea vector, right? So a negative X dimension would be a rotation of regular X dimension... maybe?

@skanman you're taking 2022 thinking and applying it to a 1999 world, my good man. Gathered tons of data how? Half the world was still on dialup. Internet explorer and Netscape navigator were using two different JavaScript versions. Ajax as a programming approach was only just starting to be conceived of.

But also, it wasn't data that made Google different. I remember early on, other browsers had crawled more of the web. Google had pagerank, or knowing what to do with the data they had.

@phoenix excellent. I often find myself discombobulated in airports. This is exactly the sort of areai need

@Decypher2 reminds me of that aphorism, "you can't teach a gold dog new tricks"

Every year there is someone who tries to act like "the smart guy" and shits all of Christmas because it's, allegedly, a commercial holiday designed to boost sales or something

Bro. My good dude. Assume you are even correct. How many holidays, of *any* motivation, are dedicated to wonder, magic, and doing good things for strangers? Is it even a question of which does more social good, Christmas vs President's' Day? vs July 4th? Come on bro, this party doesn't need another midwit

Are you a Twitter refugee? Are you still feeling kind of addicted to walled gardens? Let me introduce you to the manifold wonders of everyone with their own magical, shitty, awesome corner of the internet: web.archive.org/web/2000030123

Rule 1: never editorialize as you speak. Did you mess up the delivery? No one knows, keep your disappointment to yourself and it may be only yours

Rule 1a: if your joke doesn't land it's ok to say something like "well I thought that was going to be funnier" or "ok, I'll keep workshopping that one"

What's become of me?
I was funny! I had friends!
Now I write haikus...

Every time I hearv Bitter Sweet Symphony I get so pissed at the Rolling Stones on behalf of The Verve.

The Verve proactively contracted the right to sample "The Last Time." The Stones sued them anyway and claimed the sample was more prominent than it should have been. Not *only* did they seize the rights to Bitter Sweet Symphony, but to the whole damn album. Just makes me livid every time
