One thing I love about :mastodon: is the fact that they explicitly give you the controls they denied you on the b**dsite.

For example: I can filter *everything* with a keyword. This semi-worked in the , but not reliably, never for adverts, and not for the other crap they forced you to see.

Sorry, but it really irked me over there. I also don't fucking care who my friends liked... if they wanted to share it they can retweet it with me instead... why must a simple like also bother me? I saw no posts from my buddies, only likes likes likes. That's not interaction!

@trinsec Exactly this. I never understood why something liked/hearted/favourited was—to use the modern vernacular—boosted to that person’s entire audience. Is it really that important it requires promotion?
