We tried tto find a solution that prioritized the safety of our at-risk community (mostly LGBTQ) while still keeping hate speech out of our local instance. It has created one of the most drama free instances on the fediverse with objectively one of the biggest footprints. Out of all servers you can connect with more users from here than most others, so I consider that a success.
