(This is of course a trick question, the Metropolitan Police are happy to arrest you whether you have done a crime or not.)

I wonder, if you 'express regret' after doing a crime, will the Metropolitan Police accept that and not arrest you?

Not just common-or-garden variety fascists, but christofascists.

Can’t say I’m surprised.

The #Republic arrests, next stage:

Monday (last) night a Chief Inspector from the Met & 2 other officers visited Graham Smith, who was arrested but not charged during the #Coronation, to 'apologise' for the six arrests of Republic/Anti-monarchy demonstrators.

Smith: 'I said, for the record, I won’t accept the apology. We have a lot of questions to answer & we will be taking action'!

The Met have also now acknowledged Republic had been working with them so the protests could go ahead.

Saying that, if the animation has been churned out on refitted Amigas, I might be somewhat more enthused… 😁

is in the bag and coming out soon…

… and it’s an animated movie.

hymns should just drop the bullshit and have titles like "let's oppress the unbelievers" and "hooray I can't wait to be dead"

'Campaign groups and human rights groups criticised the "incredibly alarming" detentions, describing them as "something you would expect to see in Moscow, not London".'

Just got to the republican rally on Calton Hill, and can hear singing from Easter Road, "You can shove your coronation up your arse!" #coronation #notMyKing #Edinburgh #scotpol

The arrest of #NotMyKing coronation protest organisers is a democratic outrage. This #Coronation is costing us all up to £250 million – we have a right to protest. Sign the petition: r.ippl.es/abolish-the-monarchy

Today in the UK there are 4 million children living in poverty and going hungry.

In London today we are spending £250 million on a ceremony where a man sits in a chair and has a hat put on, that he wears once.

The UK in the 21st century.
I am ashamed of my country.

#ukpol #fascism #policestate

Turns out we do live in a fascist thoughtpolice state after all. All they need to do is work out what particular kind of wrongthink you’re guilty of.

Ms. Mordaunt has apparently chosen to attend today’s shindig dressed as a branch of Poundland.

Remember, kids: “breach of the peace” is a pre/thought-crime. This is by design.

If the right to protest peacefully is prohibited then it seems to me that there's no disadvantage in protesting violently.

#Protest #UKPolitics

Today is special because it's the only day you can call yourself a republican on fedi and not be immediately blocked by literally everyone

Good PR start to the coronation with Met police arresting apparently peaceful protesters before any protest has even taken place. Just the kind of authoritarian backdrop needed to set off a lavish celebration of constitutional hierarchy, privilege and entitlement.
