I feel like I need to find an #instance on Mastodon where folks in my local timeline would generally want to see most/all of my posts. But I feel like the folks on the science/astronomy/STEM instance aren’t going to want to see a lot of leftist/socialist/anti-capitalism stuff and vice versa. And then there’s the writing and poetry and photography and…etc.

The general instances seem so…big and don’t have that concentration of specialized posting I enjoy in the local feed. I know ppl say that what instance you’re on doesn’t matter that much, but I don’t want to feel like I’m putting out a bunch of stuff that others on my instance think is spammy. @clyminghawk That's a very thoughtful approach. If it makes you feel any better, I see the things you describe on the local timeline here constantly, and is well within the rules. This is about the most open instance out there, so feel free. I don't think you will find a place that is specifically all of those things, nor will any of us find a place where only our specific interests are posted.
