Apparently, the E.U. Commission agrees with Macron that footage of French riots should be censored.

My response to @fedora’s proposal to implement opt-out data collection in Fedora, which was marked as hidden and “flagged as inappropriate: the community feels it is offensive, abusive, to be hateful conduct or a violation of our community guidelines.”

Posting it here, on a space I own, where it cannot be marked as anything by Fedora/Red Hat/IBM:

Appears the Dutch Government's instance isn't accessible from here, because they... Misconfigured their TLS certs, lol.

Apparently, there is a "quiet push forming in the Senate". That means you should take the time to oppose these bills.

I know it's summer and we all just want to chill but it's time to start paying attention to the slate of bad Internet bills (think: KOSA, EARN IT Act, Cooper Davis, RESTRICT Act etc).

There's a quiet push forming in the Senate. We need to get really loud right now to stop these.

Apparently, the Dutch Government has joined the fediverse, joining the German one and the E.U.

I just had a very interesting situation with Pinterest. Remember them? They notified me that one of my years old pins had been removed for violating the “adult content policy.“ Within 10 minutes they sent another email that said the pin had been “reviewed and restored,” but warning that if any more of my pins violated policies I could lose my account. There’s a strike against me, though I did nothing wrong.

I smell automated moderation at work.

This was the pin.

Apparently, zoning officials in Corvallis, Oregon don't like someone giving food and other supplies to the homeless, because the presence of the homeless makes the city look unsightly.

Similar to the thing you'd use to capture ghosts in Ghostbusters.

The Daleks look like something you'd use to clean the floor.

Perhaps, after all those years doing that, they turned evil, and want to kill everyone.

Apparently, Nepal permits same sex marriage now, which sounds good.

I made a small mistake in the first paragraph which led to the omission of important context. I've fixed that.

The Ars case (*that* guy) contrasts with another case I saw where someone sort of asked questions along those lines, and got answers (someone was patient enough to tell them why society prohibits that).

They never did something like that, thankfully.

Last I heard of that person though, they were dead. It was a suicide. Suicide. No clue why. Well, maybe there was kinkshaming, not a fan of that tbh.

Someone asked me a question about whether "child rapists" have rights.

Uh, it's important to recognize that sometimes you have to protect the rights of people like that, to defend them for everyone else.

Despite that, I haven't really commented on their rights, in particular.
