1. Still young enough to stay up until midnight.
2. Learned Ark Nova.
3. The fireworks weren't TOO bad, although was still terrified.

@peterdrake Give poor Violet an extra cuddle. My cat seemed to have slept through it fine.

@peterdrake What's your opinion on Ark Nova? I got it for Xmas and have played solo once and 2 player twice, and we are loving it. But I know it has caused a lot of derision on BGG and people either love it or hate it.

By the way, my son and I played Siva Afi on New Years Eve, and it was a hit!

@boardgamebreakdown We like it. It's probably better than Terraforming Mars. Lots of moving parts, but we felt like we knew what we were doing by the end of the game. The "personal rondel" of action cards is clever. The hand limit, even when expanded to 5, feels very tight; I often thought, "I want to play all of these cards rather than drawing more."

In my initial draw, I got the Ornithologist card, which features a photo of @Elizhargrave. I came in 3rd (of 4 players), but I did manage to fill my entire board and make a couple of power moves. In a big game like this, it's important that every player gets to see some clever plans come together.

@peterdrake

Agreed about the action cards, that's pretty unique. I also like how you can upgrade the cards but you can't upgrade them all so you have to make some important decisions search game. Especially with the upgraded cards needed to unlock certain actions later.
