We were going to try Great Western Trail over boardgamearena today, but after reading the rules and/or watching videos, none of us had the appetite for such a huge bowl of victory point salad.

Instead we tried Gaïa, a tight little game with some clever mechanisms.

As usual, we concluded with Go Nuts for Donuts!.

@peterdrake Sometimes small tight games are the best games.

@peterdrake GWT is such s great game! At least in real life, never tried it online. Never thought of it as point salad though, as you don’t score points during the game but only at the end. Much like most euros you tally up points at the end for different things you achieved during the game, but it’s not Feld-like where you keep moving your counter on a score track during the game.

@peterdrake Oh actually we did play it on BGA once, a year ago. Totally forgot about that!

@eerko I don't think of *when* you score as an important feature of point salad -- just that there are many different things being counted up.
