Does anyone know if there exists a program that I can run locally on a Linux computer that will take a photo and replace a specified face with another face with the same expression?

Seems like it should be possible with deepfakes / animoji type stuff.

I ask because I’d like to post photos of my family on various platforms but I am not yet comfortable with the idea of posting my son’s face in public or semi-public settings.

I’d love to keep the essence of the photos without necessarily posting his face, though…

@pganssle I see people use a emoji to cover their face, seems like a good enough solution.

@shironeko This doesn’t quite work for me. It breaks the flow of the image and generally it can’t capture what’s actually happening on my son’s face.

Is priceless, and isn’t well-captured by emoji ☹

@pganssle certainly possible, but non trivial, nothing that does it out of the box i know of

@pganssle When I was looking at deep fake stuff a while ago somebody posted this. I never got around to trying it but I saw end product that was suppsedly made with it. Was pretty convincing. This was for video rather than an image iirc. If you just need a still image maybe look for a faceapp knockoff.
