I've been tempted to get an Oura ring, but I'm a bit worried that the device would become useless if the company went under and also, more importantly, it seems like they have a proprietary charger that costs $60!
Why don't people build their stuff to work with standard wireless charging pads 😭
@pganssle Happy oura ring user, but:
- your data go through them, you can't just read it from the ring, so your fear is justified
- the battery is loosing charge after a year of use, and that's going to suck
I get the charger choice given how small the device is though.
Also, after some time, you know what the metrics will look like, you don't need the device anymore, cause it taught you to know your body and lifestyle consequences. I call it a win but you do use it less :)
