Going to PyCon US next week? 🐍

Want to print out the PyCon US 2023 schedule? πŸ—“οΈπŸ–¨οΈ

us.pycon.org/2023/schedule/

Paper doesn't run out of batteries, is easy to scribble on, and stuff into a pocket! πŸ“ƒπŸ“„πŸ“

I made some custom CSS and JavaScript to make it nicely printable:

Is anyone attending #PyConUS bringing juggling equipment?
#PyCon
Please boost for critical juggling reach!

I haven’t had a chance to set up a calendly link or anything, but if anyone is interested in meeting up with me during , shoot me an email and we can arrange a time. πŸ™‚

On my way to #PyConUS!

I'll probably be running around like a headless chicken all week, but if you want to talk to me please feel free to stop me! I like taking, in particular about:

- @ThePSF and all it does, as well as how the Board works and whether you should be on it (probably yes!)

- The #Python Steering Council and all the language decisions we're making, and also whether your should be on it (probably yes!)

- #Cats, like my little boi Akio and his "big" sister Demi...

Just in time for #PyConUS, here have an attrs 23.1.0: github.com/python-attrs/attrs/ #python

If you're an #attrs user and are coming to SLC, come and say hi!

Please don’t use e-mail as a primary key or a username or whatever it is that is causing this requirement (or any of the other similar problems like “You can’t change your e-mail”)

Well, this is an annoying requirement, particularly for those of us who use one-off e-mails per service.

Since I used different e-mail addresses to register for PyCon US 2022 and 2023, I can’t just point the PyCon US 2023 website at my existing Sharemyhealth account.

Tips for your first #PyConUS, especially if you're going in person AND this is not your first time going to any kind of industry convention.

#PyCon is special in a few ways: Spanish talks! Transparency report! Domain experts in the expo hall! And more.

Please feel free to boost, share elsewhere, etc.

And welcome! We're glad you're joining us.

Man, I’m leaving for is in 5 days and I haven’t even gone over the schedule yet. This feels like the least prepared I’ve ever been for a PyCon.

We're concerned that language in the proposed European Cyber Resilience Act may cause problems for public open source repositories like the ones we host. Please read and share: pyfound.blogspot.com/2023/04/t

FYI, If you don’t already follow @brainwane, you probably should. From what I can tell, she’s a thoughtful person in every aspect of her life, including curating an excellent feed of diverse, high quality content (both what she writes and what she boosts).

Also, if you have the opportunity to be her friend, take it, because she’s a wonderful person.

This Thursday I’ll be giving a preview of my PyCon talk at the Boston Python meetup. If you are in the Boston area, come on down! meetu.ps/e/LZhX0/1z7D4/i

Curious to know if anyone is willing to share β€” particularly those with kids and a large disparity between your income and your spouse’s β€” how much life insurance do y’all have?

Right now I have a $1M 30 year policy (plus some coverage and stuff through work that probably adds up to another $1M or so in value for my heirs), but I’m starting to feel like this is way too little.

My Pebble is on its last legs, too. I had to give it open-case surgery last week (new battery), but that just bought me some time.

All of this is really affecting my inner techno-optimist.

I can’t believe I’ve been trying to find a new phone that meets my requirements for a year and I still can’t find one. ☹

Seems like you can add a configuration with the command line, which I don’t know how to use, and which doesn’t add a UI toggle.
