@w7voa Cue RW demands to build a fence on our border with Azerbaijan

You should be able to treat your smart TV as a dumb TV, and just plug in your favorite streaming dongles into the HDMI ports. Reset your smart TV to factory defaults, and don't plug in an ethernet cable or give it WiFi credentials.
Most modern TVs made in the last decade or so support CEC, which means you can control streamers using the TV's own remote.
@kravietz This sounds like a matter for Czechia to bring up to its NATO partners under Article 4.
@nervous_jessica This made me think to check the Cornell Red Hawk cam and guess what? One of the eggs hatched yesterday!
@dangillmor I blame all the assholes who voted against Hillary, Kerry, and Gore for petty reasons of personal dislike -- fanned by the press I must say -- and entirely against principle.
Elections have consequences. Too many voters just act like they don't really matter. This shows that they do.
@dantheclamman Clearly we need to breed or genetically engineer Cruise Ship Worms
@jimray
Pretty sure what really happened was the credit card on record for the Voyager SaaS subscription expired and they just entered a new one.
@rubenbolling
Nominative determinism; or Pratt is as prat does.
@w7voa How does he expect the prison-industrial complex to make money with an attitude like that?
This one's real, though, and it also fits:
"The spectacle of a number of middle-aged gentlemen who are my political opponents being in a state of uproar and fury is really quite exhilarating to me.”
@randahl I wonder what was behind his epiphany? Promises that the defense appropriations would benefit his constituency? Offer of a well-paid makework private sector sinecure after he leaves Congress? Prestigious school admissions for his kids? Regular table at Rao's? Pictures of him with congressional aides?
@Fife4Europe You chaps need to roll back the fixed terms act. The Tories should have been out a long time ago.
@AnnemarieBridy Hell. Lost Angeles chalks up another one.
@randahl Not so much in anger as the fact that she can't phone her handler in Moscow for further instructions from the House floor.
I probably should have checked that it wasn't paywalled first. Wayback Machine to the rescue: https://web.archive.org/web/20240204160000/https://www.wired.com/1996/12/ffglass/
While it's going to be pretty dated by now, I really enjoyed Neal Stephenson' sprawling article on this subject for Wired back in the day. I even plugged it in a review I wrote for one of his novels. I should probably read it again.
@lobsterofrevenge @CelloMomOnCars
There's still at least one coal plant. To say nothing of 200 or so natural gas plants. Perhaps go after those first.
@beebrookshire Clearly they should raise the rats' rent while also giving them the option of working remotely. That's got people leaving, why shouldn't it work on rats?
