@transdiffusion Incidentally, I've just noticed that the IMDB page on Riviera Police uses your photomosaic as the banner image for the show. Among other things giving the impression that it starred Milton Shulman.

And yet I still have no confidence that the military rank and file won't stand behind him. They really are astonishingly willing to be lied to, and equally passionate about lying to themselves.

@joshuadramsey @bruces
the ability to make a distinction between a person saying something vs. "choosing a hill to die on" would be a start

Is there independent confirmation that you did in fact move into adulthood?

"You Name It", says MapQuest. Here's mine.

@w7voa Well how else are the illegals supposed to get from one field to the next?

How Hitler seized power:

1. Create a crisis.
2. Demonize opponents.
3. Declare a state of emergency.
4. Undermine elections.
5. Make the rule of law irrelevant.
6. Rule by decree.

If America falls it will be because of the people who didn’t pay attention.

It also destroys coral reefs from two directions: acidification, and bleaching from overheated seas. Considering the way he claims concern for the oceans in that interview he might want to consider that.

@Fife4Europe

"He told Sky News he could name thousands of experts who agree with him but won’t come forward because they are “terrified to speak because they won’t get any research funding if they tell it how it is.”"

So, basically, flat-out lie here from someone who doesn't know how scientific research even works. Reporters should call him on this one: "Whisper to us the names of those thousands of experts. We'll commit in writing to keep their secret, and we'll simply verify them privately and only report that you're telling the truth."

Once it was pointed out to me that that mascot looks like a stick figure with a giant Col. Sanders head, I've been unable to see it any other way.

I now gift this to you.

It just occurred to me that if I change my preferences in Wikipedia to include my time zone, edit history pages will use it and the age of edits -- particularly if they're today's edits -- will be much more readily apparent.

I mean that should be obvious, but who besides dedicated Wikipedia nerds actually sets their user preferences in Wikipedia?

@andrewstroehlein
And the very people who attack them are going to need someone to hold jobs to pay for their retirements, and a large enough labour force to include the caregivers they're going to need.

Since they've spent the last several generations having less than a replacement number of children, who did they think was going to do that?

@fulelo Good lord. I knew the "bonfire of regulations" had turned out badly but that's shocking.

I'm in the Pacific Northwest US. Here our local power company has just got approval for rate increases despite abandoning its clean power commitments, on the grounds that it can't afford to fulfil them and needs to raise rates because -- get this -- of the fines it had to pay for causing wildfires.

@fulelo
What if the bill rises were to go through, with a provision that customers get a refund for each human turd that comes out of their taps?

@w7voa Ten provinces. Ten states. Twenty senators. Ten Congresspersons in addition to the number that population would confer.
