I think most people don't realize that the famous "Don't Be Evil" dictum only meant "don't accept payment for search engine ranking". It was never an overall ethical principle.

In response to Musk's Nazi gruss yesterday someone I followed on bluesky said something to the effect of "so basically like Keir Starmer then?" False equivalence cuts both ways. (And that was an instant unfollow of course.)
