If anyone's going to use AI for anything, Amazon should be using it to discard non-answers to product questions. I've just been looking some questions where every single answer, faithfully auto-published by Amazon, boils down to "I don't know."
IRL I've taken to cutting off people who lead with an unsolicited opinion on complex topics I've no reason to believe they understand particularly well. I've no patience for it anymore, and it's just constant nowadays.

Maybe I'm being a little too harsh. Most of the engagement I get here is great and a lot of fun, but I find strangers explaining things I know to me more annoying than random vile trolls on birdsite. Although with the marked uptick in trolls it has been pretty awful.

Fact is the moment Musk relents and makes Twitter even slightly usable again they're all going to go back there. We've seen this over and over again: Musk breaks something, it's the Fediverse jubilee. Musk unbreaks it even slightly, you can't see them for dust.
