Same for the rest of the world, but in the context of FOSS we all try to write in English, no matter if it's bad.
Only the Chinese have this attitude and it's already problematic, imagine if everyone just start reporting bugs in their own language.
If it was for me, we would use #interlingua that is designed for this, but English is the de facto standard for now.
Are we OK with #Chinese people writing Chinese on #GitHub and other platforms?
I mean, not in repos that can only be of interest to Chinese people, I mean in repos of public interest for all, where we usually write in #English.
Also sometimes even if a repo has the README in English, there are issues, pull requests, etc. in Chinese.
Is it only me finding it disrespectful? They may benefit from others who speak English (even those who are not native English speakers but strive) but we are left out when they speak Chinese? 😲
#Matrix is a protocol, you are talking about an implementation, Synapse on matrix.org, that is slow because 1. Synapse started as a proof of concept and will be replaced by Dendrite and others 2. it has many users and very large rooms.
Matrix is de facto a decentralized database which is transparent with respect to the disappearance or reappearance of nodes, like many colonies of living beings whose borders are bland because they can unite and separate continuously, but maintains the consistency of the data and allows users to interact with it in a granular way with a sort of built-in Access Control Lists.
If you ask me, Matrix is the evolution of TCP/IP Internet in the direction of being more like biological systems. A totally different beast compared to SMTP, XMPP and ActivityPub.
Art. 15 of the Italian Constitution: "Freedom and confidentiality of correspondence and of every other form of communication is inviolable. Limitations may only be imposed by judicial decision stating the reasons and in accordance with the guarantees provided by the law."
Unfortunately the EU legislation violates the Italian Constitution in many ways already, #chatcontrol will be just the latest in a long list.
There is this so-called gender ideology which tries to deny sexuality as something biological.
They basically took the linguistic category of "gender" (in most languages every noun has a gender: masculine, feminine or neuter; people get their gender according to their sex) and made it a psychic category that is somehow orthogonal to sex. Then they moved characteristics of the two sexes (including sexual orientations) to this idea of gender, claiming they are so because of social constructs and while doing so they faded one gender into the other, creating a sort of sprectrum.
Right or wrong this is technically what they did but most of them will always say that's just the way it is without arguing much and be personal offended if you just don't join their conclusions, even if your respect them but arguing for the sake of science.

Working on a nice account viewer in Kalendar on my way back from #las22. Like the rest of Kalendar, this supports various online sources like @nextcloud and other CardDAV servers.
Do you use any of these? #PKMS
My quick notes about the process of today's test published earlier: 5 steps, 3 layers, predictible and reproducible. I'll explore more with it, I like this simplicity.

Il dominio .org, usato anche da #Wikipedia, sta per essere privatizzato. Anche alcuni senatori USA chiedono di #SaveDotOrg.

Albert #Uderzo left us today... "Astérix" was certainly the first comic I read and his generous curved drawing style had a big impact on my way to draw. Rest in peace.

The engineer that we work with created a very nice Ansible script that provisions our laptops with Linux Mint by PXE boot. I'm testing the first one, hopefully I'll get all of them deployed by the end of today so that people can work from home. #Covid19
Some years ago I was involved in the rewrite of the GUI (an entrepreneur paid a KDE dev to work on the whole stack) and at the time everything worked well. Now I can't test the calibration.
About my setup I have a Lenovo Yoga 720 13'' with integrated Wacom tablet and an Intel 620 GPU.
In my experience Nvidia can be really really problematic so I only use Intel now...
Anyway thanks for your efforts in improving the situation on Linux/Plasma
