So I decided to post the article I wrote (linked below) on twitter and am going to dump some money into promoting it there. Gotta get some attention to this. Go boost over on twitter if you'd like.

Disinformation flourishes because many people care deeply about injustice but very few check the facts.

@lxo @freemo Also, because other people prevent them from having access to the facts.

well, there is that, but really, if there might exist facts that would make one think an action one is considering taking that would cause irreparable harm if it turned out to be wrong, maybe you shouldn't take that action before checking the facts very very thoroughly. I find people often react to accusations by assuming the accused is deserving of punishment, as if being accused was proof of wrongdoing. malicious players have found this to be easily exploitable.

@lxo Many people are driven by hate, especially now that we've had 16 years of Twitter.

> Many people are driven by hate

yes, and I hate that ;-D

@lxo I can't endorse your remark or I'll get booted off my instance!

uhh, I wonder why. I can't think of anything that would. I wonder if my words have been misunderstood...

@lxo Strict instance rules against endorsing hate
