This morning I am making Yorkshire Parkin. There may be some debate as to quite where this gingery, oatie, sugarbomb originated but somewhere in the North of England seems agreed on. Yorkshire seems as a good a place as any.

Sufficiently high bit rate HD looks amazing on my LG TV. I can’t tell the difference between good HD and 4K at any sensible viewing distance. I can now buy an 8K Tv. There’s barely any 4K content right now so this is just what nobody needs.

My current favourite thing is the album Chris by Christine & The Queens. Can’t get 5 Dollars out of my head.

All sources of news and media are full of the ongoing march to somrt sort of catastrophic brexit situation and it's irritating me this evening, so I've spent some time looking at the photos from my last European holiday (I don't take many) to Florence. What a beautiful city.

Of course I can only do what I can do. I carefully watch my energy use, we have no children, we no longer have pets. I primarily cycle commute & gently push my employer to avoid wasteful practices. None of this is enough of course. It requires politicians, government, to take control of the situation. Unfortunately the current UK government are a collection of idiots with such a free market obsession they clearly will never do anything.

So that whole Bloomberg story about the fiddled Supermicro boards... Didn't really make any sense to me.

Today, a trip to the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, a fantastic place to visit in the North of England, especially with weather as good as today's. A current special exhibition is A Tree In The Wood by Italian artist Giuseppe Penone. It's stunning work.

I work in a much derided building that’s long overdue demolition... it’s still nice to find the little architectural details. I love this little gap halfway up the stairs to let light through, something characteristically 60s about this.
