Day #050 of #100DaysToOffload and I reach the point of no return.
@ggarron that is interesting as one other thing which is important is trying to keep the post names the same so if any have been shared, they are still clickable in the years to come.
That said, so many people seem to be on the 'pretty URL' bandwagon the platforms I am looking at all seems to offer the 'no extension' option.
For me, the only benefit to not using an extension is I have also been an extension junkie over the years. I've built .html, .htm, .php, .asp, .jsp and back when it first launched, I even used Cold Fusion for my site.
@ggarron I’ll definitely keep the domain.
One of the key things which sees me use Write.as, Ghost, WP or other is to have a consistent domain so when the mood to try a different platform strikes, I can still be found. 🙂
Day #049 of #100DaysToOffload and we have known each other long enough for it to be time for me to confess.
Day #048 of #100DaysToOffload and I ponder the problem of over correction.
Day #047 of #100DaysToOffload and the struggle is topic.
Day #046 of #100DaysToOffload and writing is a genuine struggle. At times like this I am thankful for the void.
Day #045 of #100DaysToOffload and I muse on the over consumption of doubt.
I caved to peer pressure and started a blog. The cat is out of the bag and now you know all of my secrets! 😜
Day #044 of #100DaysToOffload and I recall the tumultuous events of the Peasants' Revolt of 1381.
Posts about your children matter. Remember that if you post it, the likelihood of someone finding it, even far in the future, is likely.
Making a conscious effort to treat their online identity with respect is a great way to ensure what YOU post does not come back to haunt them.
Are you upset by what #Facebook, #Google & the like divulge to others without your approval?
Don’t be a Google. Don’t be a Facebook. Be the most private you possible when it comes to your kids.
Day #043 of #100DaysToOffload and I share my love of stationary.
@kev never mind the trackball... nice keyboard and caps. Specs if you would be so kind. 🙏
Day #042 of #100DaysToOffload and I ponder the power of the snub.
Day #041 of #100DaysToOffload and I have limped over the line due to competing thoughts.
Day 46 of the #100DaysToOffload series:
I started using Joplin a couple weeks ago for casual note taking, but despite the fact that the app is great, I don't think I need it any more.
Day #040 of #100DaysToOffload and I unpack the latest wave of cancel culture.
@design_RG fascinating. I knew people could be labelled Nazis for advocating die Endlösung, joining the NSDAP or even just wearing the swastika. But for using the wrong fork of an app... that is a new one for the archives.
