@jeremiah hopefully! illegal to have backyard canpfires here anymore, so am aiming to get around it with an indoor wood stove that’s open to the outdoors by having one of the walls open up

@jeremiah and that scrap i just added — hoping to build a shack in our lil backyard with a wood stove

got a walking desk and at the moment it’s being put to the task with a 3km poppy hill challenge for the boy

found out about the voyager via this guy's video: m.youtube.com/watch?v=dg2TT1OJ

the magnetic accessories seem like a great idea. i've got a pretty nice setup already with quick release tripod mounts, but if i were starting over, this does seem like the ticket.

i've been using a moonlander the last few months and have gotten pretty used to it. i actually do use multiple keys on both thumb clusters, but they *are* too far from the rest of the keyboard for me, so i adopted a weird layout w/ the keys shifted inwards ("b" on thumb cluster)

just realized zsa's got a new keyboard out! "voyager": zsa.io/voyager/
looks pretty good! less bulky than their other keyboards, and i bet the thumb clusters are way easier to reach than on moonlander or ergodox.

@jeremiah not sure! haven’t been since i was a teen, but we are planning to hit it up this winter

the gang got on the train to toronto and hit the ROM today

after spending a few days in a haze of fever and headaches, felt great to do some physical work and be out and about. (also picked up a 90’s freezer from simcoe and got it set up in our basement)

finally put the truck’s roof racks to work today toting wood for a ramp i (thought i) needed to load a cast iron stove i got at auction in dundas ($30 including chimney!)

@jeremiah @rimugu @wjmaggos we also subsidized our CANDU nuclear reactors w huge amounts of public money and bailed out their cost overruns. i expect similar situations have repeated around the world, though i know some other countries do much better w cost of nuclear

@jeremiah @rimugu @wjmaggos and not just externalities that aren’t figured in, but subsidies in many countries make it hard for non-oil/non-coal energy sources; seems like that’s changing more and more. canada for example subsidized our oil sands production like crazy to make them viable

just put a ladder/lumber/kayak rack on the acty!

i have basically 2 modes of writing when messaging folks. sometimes it’s like a switch flips in my head and i toggle from this mode (w no capitalization and limited punctuation) to…

This! Much more proper and professional. And my vocabulary switches to become more formal as well! Sometimes I don’t even realize I’ve switched during a conversation with someone. I imagine it could be quite jarring for them at times.
